About the Rabbit . . .

Fuji Heavy Industries manufactured airplanes and other equipment for the war effort. After Japan's surrender, the United States ordered all wartime production to stop. The company, seeing the current position of its country, realized that fast, inexpensive transportation was needed. Thus the development of the Fuji Rabbit (About six months before the first Vespa was produced). The first year the Rabbit was imported into the United States was 1957 with various models in the line-up. The company evolved over the years until the current status of a major manufacturer in Japan. Their most common holding is with the Subaru car company.
